Travelogue: Short Getaway to the Merlion City, Singapore [part 1]

January 2015, and my very first memorable activity was travelling. I chose Singapore as the first destination. I bought the ticket on 31/10/2014, finally! Why I say finally? My housemate and I have the thought to visit to Singapore since forever but no action was made to make it happen. -_-
The air ticket price was actually the core factor that restrict the plan. I did hunt for the cheapest ticket for few weeks I think, then I gave up... One day, I decided to just ignore the ticket price. And the preparation for my Singapore's trip is then begun. :D Both me and housemate announced the trip as a budget trip. So, we tried to cut as much cost as possible. No proper itinerary was made, the trip was expected to be a 'free and easy 3D2N in Singapore'. So we have no plans, excepts for USS. Well, USS is a must-visit, of course we want to go there to experience the movies. Since this is a late post, I'll try to share my activities as precise as possible. Travelling Date: 16 - 18 January 2015 It's been two weeks since the trip! After we bought the tickets, my boyfriend and another 3 girls decided to join us. The more the merrier eh? :P Ticket price was RM261 for MYY - SIN - MYY. Quite cheap for normal fare. Don't expect the price to go lower unless it is the zero fare or free seats fest, my monologue. Accommodation: B88 Hostel  Accommodation in Singapore is quite pricey. If you're opted for a budget trip, hostel is the best option for your stay. Yes, I was on tight budget but I was also looking for a place with better privacy. So I chose B88 Hostel, simply because it is a capsule hostel. Reservation was made a month earlier. I checked their website and there was a promotion back then. Mode of reservation was e-mail. You can directly book a room through their website but the promotion price is only valid for e-mail reservation. Price: $20 per bed per night for 16 beds mixed dorm $26 per bed per night for 6 beds female dorm

However, there will be no towel and toiletries. Normal for hostel eh? *scratch head* The location was not favourable for me. Too far from the MRT station even though can still be reached in walking distance. Lots of shops nearby and there is a bus stop right in front of the hostel. Since we were kind of stupid and did not know how the bus system works, we let our foot suffered. T.T Overall experience in B88 Hostel was okay. Solely for sleeping and showering so not much negative side I can find. Transportation: MRT and bus We bought the EZ-Link card for transportation. The card can be bought from the information counter in every MRT stations. Price was $12 with $7 credit inside and the credit can be top up at 7/11. Each one of us was given a system map for free. Plus, the card can be used to ride the bus too. :)  USS TICKET: Star Moon Vacations Sdn Bhd I bought online from the travel agency. Guess what? I paid in November and they promised to send out the tickets in December. Problems occurred and I got the ticket a day before we depart for Singapore. Price was RM168 for one day pass. Each ticket should come with a $5 shopping voucher and a $5 meal voucher. We bought 6 tickets but we received only 4 vouchers. I asked them why, the reason was that they only have that much in stock. So okay, at least they were being honest, and the price of the ticket was cheaper. -_- So done for the first part of my Merlion City trip. Oh hye!
It's already 27th of December and we are few days away from the new year. What's your 2015 resolutions? I have none, yet. :P
Back to the main talk, I hereby want to write a review. *serious face*
As a prologue, I was so lazy about brushing my teeth in my childhood years. I can't even tell if I did do the brushing. Can you imagine what kind of girl was that? I didn't give a damn about the bad breath or cavity or anything that relates to dental health. I don't care. As long as I have my teeth to chew then what? Time passed and as I grew older, I started to realize that my childhood's laziness affect my beauty. Ehhh? Plus, I was a coffee lover and I drank lots of coffee. To make it short, my teeth are yellowish.

Still, I don't really care. Wahahahahahah!
No, I started to concern after seeing my ugly teeth in a selfie. Then only I started to seek for dental advice and stuffs. For teeth whitening itself, treatment from a dentist might cost RM800++. That's quite pricey for me. In the meanwhile, I tried to find another alternatives. I read few bloggers review on this one teeth whitening product and I was so tempted to buy once I saw the before-and-after results. So here goes my story.

Tadaaa! I finally bought the product, Crest 3D White. The product is claimed as the best selling whitening strips in the USA so of course I have high hope of the results. 20 pouches per box for 20 treatments, and the result should be visible after the third treatment, as claimed by few reviews I read.
Here's what I copied from somewhere:

Of course, having something in your mouth will cause discomfort, and the chemical from the strips that reacted to my teeth formed foams. As they leaked out, my saliva tasted weird pulak. Therefore, I decided to not to swallow my saliva, throughout the treatments. 30 minutes felt so long...
MY 2 CENTS
I am very very very satisfied! Truth to be told, yes the product managed to whiten my teeth. I have photos but I am too shy to show you my uglily-misaligned-teeth. *maybe I will need to see an orthodontist someday*
Some experienced sensitivity after the treatment but I don't. Lucky me I guessed. I actually stopped after the 10 treatments, but the result is totally satisfying as I can already see the difference after the fifth treatment. The effect should last for at least 12 months, so if I ever encounter this problem again in the future, I will definitely repurchase Crest 3D Whitestrips. :)

Okay so I'm kind of free right now since it's weekend and I'm bored and there's nothing to watch and I'm hungry but lazy to rummage the kitchen for food and I feel like typing.
Last month, 25 - 28 of September to be exact, I flew to Krabi, Thailand with my sister (my walking atm machine lol).
I had to attend a conference but I took the opportunity to ramble since I only need to spare one day for the event. So it's more like a vacation instead of an official trip.
MUAHAHAHAHAH!
I won't talk about the conference, I'll just share my experience there. Who knows someday this post might help you? Ehhhh

HOTEL
I booked a month earlier through Agoda and I chose Bliss Resort Krabi, located at Klong Muang District, approximately 40 minutes away from Krabi International Airport. Why do I have to go this far? The venue of the conference was Klong Muang in the first place but it was then changed to Ao Nang (9.1km away) after I confirmed my booking. -_-
It's already dark when I reached Klong Muang, noticeably just a small town with few countable numbers of shop mainly cafe/restaurant, massage/spa as well as travel/tour agency. Trust me, Klong Muang is not a place for entertainment but is best for mind relaxing, away from hustle bustle. Bliss Resort is just by the main road side but quite hard to be noticed. I booked a superior room, which cost me ~RM82 per night, and the room is facing the beach. Small room with basic necessity AND WIFI but totally satisfying. I don't have the room's photo though. Just try to imagine a room of a boutique hotel which is nicely decorated. Bear in mind that Bliss Resort is a budget hotel but what I got was definitely worth the money. Breakfast provided and friendly staffs, a nice stay at Bliss Resort I must say.

TRANSPORTATION
During my stay in Krabi, I rented a car from Avis and they can be visited at the airport. ~TB2800 from 25/9: 5pm till 28/9: 8am. Deposit of TB20000 to be refunded after returning the car to Avis.

Car rental is not necessary since you can ride Tuk Tuk or taxi or bus or other public transportation. I decided to rent because of the conference and to ease my rambling. Driving in Krabi is not that difficult. It is a whole lot more relaxed than in Malaysia's cities. I live in an outskirt area of Sarawak though so it felt like driving in my hometown. Aside from car, you can rent scooter/motorbike which cost cheaper to facilitate your movement. ;)
ACTIVITY
The only extraordinary activity I had done was elephant trekking. HAHAHAH! Spent most of my time in Ao Nang, walking and wasting money for souvenirs. -_-

We paid TB450 per person for one hour trekking. I forgot the name of the agent but they can be found in Ao Nang. Please choose wisely as there are lots of agent with the same package but different prices. TB450 is the cheapest I could find and the highest price was TB800. See the difference? I was thrill at first but became restless during the trekking. What if the elephant get mad and throw me off of her back? O.O
So the one hour journey felt so long and distressful. HAHAHAHA!
Another attraction of Krabi is the Krabi Town Night Market on the weekend. Me and sister decided to go, to experience the feel of thai's night market.
 
There's not much difference from our pasar malam/pasar minggu/uptown. Basically the same, the only difference is probably the language. And the food? Slightly. Souvenirs (keychain & fridge magnet) are cheaper here compared to Ao Nang.
Back to Ao Nang, you can get almost everything there. Thai's delicacy, souvenirs, entertainment. Staying in Ao Nang is much convenient. In walking distance, you can get what you want. Bargaining skill is needed because the sellers are good at varying the price. Tshirt, you can be offered with TB150 today but TB300 tomorrow. Hohohoho!

Okay to end my post, Krabi is a place for beach activities. You can go snorkelling, island hoping or diving here. I skipped these activities due to time constraints and I didn't even plan to. Simply because I don't know how to swim. HAHAHAH! Plus, I didn't bring suitable cloths for the activity. I do regret a bit though since the opportunity to visit Krabi may not come again in the future. Therefore, plan your trip wisely okay?

Since I have too much free time, no money to spend on outing, no friends to hang out with, my only option is to go through my external hard drive and search for anything that can be watched. I found Dr. Champ, a 2010 drama. I know this drama was on air like 3 years ago and I just watched the final episode last night so today is still count as too late to review. But, I'm still going to write my opinion. HAHAH!

Synopsis
Kim Yeon Woo is an orthopedic doctor who takes up a new post at Taereung National Village, the training center for national Olympic athletes, after she is fired from her previous job. She becomes romantically involved with Park Ji Heon, a young judo athlete, and Lee Do Wook, the short-tempered, crippled director of the facility who is still haunted by the injury that had cut short his speed-skating career. This is further complicated by the presence of the swimming coach, Hee Young, who becomes her rival for the attentions of Do Wook.
Review
My first googling impression went to the lead actress. I remember how much I disliked Kim So Yeon in All About Eve but her character in Dr. Champ is a little bit identical to her character in Prosecutor Princess. Totally different but somehow there is something that resemble each other. Meanwhile, I tried to reminisce if I had ever seen the male lead somewhere before but my result was nope. I have no idea about the other casts as well. >.<
As I watched the first episode, the drama gave me the excitation to watch further. The combination between medical and sport plus flaming hot athletes were irresistible. I saw multiples of six packs all the time! :P To sum up the 16 episodes, the first few were interesting but the plot was getting too complex in the middle and the last 2 episodes were brilliant I must say. Complexity I brought up here was because of the amount of matters and problems that I need to care. Overflowing plots. At first I thought the major plot will be a triangle love affair between Dr. Kim Yeon Woo, Park Ji Heon and Lee Do Wook but I was wrong. In fact, love story was seems to be a minor as the drama was mainly about the life of a doctor in a sport training center who need to treat various injuries related to sports and exercises and training. The life of a judo athlete who has been wanting to win a gold medal due to his bitter past. Plus, the lifestyle of national athletes pursuing their dreams but got injured that later caused conflicts to arise. And not to be forgotten, an ex athlete who made a come back as the medical director of the center with a dream to pursue his long lost love apart from to prove his success. Enchanting love moments, I can only watched them in the 2 last episodes. However, I do think that the storyline of Dr. Champ is less cliche than most of K-dramas. So it's not a common cheesy meesy or tears sucker drama.
At some point, I felt like giving up to continue watching. I admit but PJH made me survived. He was a turn on factor. BAHAHA! The male lead was my muse. His character was arrogant but as I knew him more, he has lots of charm. The moment I saw his caring side, I can't helped myself from falling in love. ♥ PJH was a serious character but a total silly when he tried to attract KYW. How I wished his wasted efforts to win over KYW were rendered to me. :P I really enjoyed PJH and KYW's love affair but sadly, not much can be seen in the drama.

Synopsis

She helps him to know about the history of his time and change some events. After that they start to develop feelings for each other, but is it possible for them to have a successful relationship?
Review
I didn't enjoy the first episode to be honest. Historical genre of movie or drama is not my ideal type but for the sake of JHW, I forced myself to watch. I got hooked by the third episode I guessed, when the friendship between Kim Boong Do and Choi Hee Jin started to develop. KBD received a talisman (azimat) which will protect him from death. Therefore, whenever he's about to die, the talisman will disperse it's magic power to make KBD disappear immediately and throw him across 300 years time to reappear in the future. That's how they met, accidentally and purposely.
What I like about the drama is KBD for sure. During his era, he was a charismatic, smart and well reputable scholar. As he came to the future, he turned into a total noob (of course he will since everything has changed drastically) but his coolness is irresistible! The way he reacted whenever CHJ taught him something ridiculous that will end up with stolen kiss is just too adorable. Blur, confused but admitting? Somewhat like so. HAHA! Throughout KBD's time travelling periods, they fell in love and both of them were so sweet together. Their relationship can evoke jealousy, trust me. KBD can be everybody's prince charming!
There were mixed of feelings while I watched the drama. I smiled, I laughed, I cried, I doubted. Well, KBD was wearing a traditional cloth when he transported to the future but in the next scene, he wore a nice jeans with a cardigan. Aren't you curious how he got the cloths? Mentioned that he stole them but I can't ignore my curiosity of how. Forget it. The most heartbreaking episode was the 15th, where KBD disappeared in the middle of a date with CHJ. He went back to his era and can't be transported to the future again due to the death of the talisman's owner and writer. However, they met again after a year because of their memories. KBD was about to suicide (he committed but yet to die) but CHJ's phone call for him was suddenly connected. The phone was not functioned ever since he went back to his era though. Besides, CHJ forgot his existence because KBD burnt the talisman so that CHJ won't be able to neither wait for him nor remember him. Gentleman isn't he? :') As KBD was about to die, CHJ's memories of KBD were recovered so she tried to call KBD. KBD answered the call and he was brought back to the future. Absurd but acceptable. Hence there you go, a happy ending! ♥
